In the near future, we plan on combining the content of JackandSamforever.com with SamandJackAlways.net...
Nothing and no one will be left behind...and the submission guidelines will stay the same ( basically..Sam and Jack centered, try to check your spelling..and be nice to Carter :-))

Why are we doing this ?...
We are combining the best from both sites..They have a lot more content and much..much better graphics...Ours are a bit..spartan to say the least..
We've managed to have a configuration with a reliable uptime record, while they've had issues..so after much discussion, we figured out that it made more sense for everyone to combine both sites in one great site that gave all the authors and readers a nice, reliable home to work with...
We all get a better looking site with more content that does not act up...

In 'SG-1speak' we're more like the alpha site, while they're more like the SGC...so the only 2 changes you'll see on this side will be more content and better graphics..everything else will stay the same...

There will be no downtime on this site as a result of the merger...

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
ATTENTION ALL AUTHORS AND READERS!!!!

In the near future, Sam and Jack Always will be merging with Sam and Jack Forever. The owners of both sites realize it's redundant to have 2 sites that are basically for the same purpose. Also, there have been major issues with the Sam and Jack Always site with uploading fics. It was discovered by Siler of S/J Forever that the hosting company had conflict issues with the efiction software.

So after much discussion, we've decided to merge the sites into one GREAT Archive! Now this won't be taking place for a while yet, but when it does happen, there shouldn't be a long down time (perhaps 24-48 hours total). We'll know more by the end of the week/beginning of next week. In the mean time, it has been suggested that no new uploads be allowed. So the upload feature will be taken off line for the time being.

Those that wish to have their fics published, may I suggest that you join the Sam and Jack Always Yahoo list http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/samandjackalways/ or the SJNC17 yahoo list

============================Everyone knows by now, and it has already been written on this forum.
But repeating things helps, most of the times.
So let's get going, campers... it's time to save our show! They have
given so much to us: hours of entertainment, something nice to think
about, something to gives us a break from Real Life, and, last but not
least, so many new friends, met at conventions or just over the
internet. So now it's time for us to give them something back. Even if
you're not the greatest fan of the newest seasons (personally, I like
them!), even if you prefer Atlantis (I LOVE it), help! I too miss RDA,
and am a shipper, but we can write and email to save the show and add
"hey, BTW, you know... bringing back RDA could get the ratings
higher!", even though it was HIS choice to leave so he could stay with
Wylie. Or even if you just want to help out, for friendship towards
other fans, or for whatever reason.

We are arranging a second site to act as a mirror tothe first one. We already have the server space ( same as the first one), and are working on coding the mirroring.
Once this is done, unless a mothership lands on the data center, we should always be up

Fixed the stars....
Fixed the visual icons ( still have an issue with some of the AOL ones)
Three next big things...
1. Fill the character bios
2. Put pictures up for the categories
3. Tackle the additional skins ( we need more shippy skins...this after a S/J site is it not ?)

Disk space wise...lots of room left...we have almost 100 stories and barely consumed 3GB of disk...that's like 5 CDs..
Bandwith wise...again, we're in good shape..lots and lots of room to play

Well after one full day up...we've have over 40 members...This is great !
1. Added some more warnings ..(Thanks Telkena)
2. Added some more categories ( Thanks again, Telkena...)
3. You do not have to register for the Adult Only or MA rated material....but you do have to indicate you are of legal age and consent to read the material..
4. Added a DoD link to ranks and insignias
5. Working to populate the characters and then tackle the visuals....
